Cream Biscuits

Updated: Sep 20, 2019

Bread

These are probably the first biscuits any little girl (or boy) is taught to make because they're basically foolproof. My older sister taught me the recipe when I was in kindergarten. It's so much easier than my grandmother's more traditional one and my boys tend to prefer this one because the biscuits are sweet and not savory.

Granny Mae Wisdom-- The way to a man's heart isn't through his stomach. It's with a knife, between his ribs.

I make them so often that I forget to make photos of them. So I'll get a better picture tonight or tomorrow!

Recipe

1 cups self-rising flour

1 Tbsp sugar

1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

1. Preheat over to 500 degrees. This is key! You need that heat!

2. Mix ingredients together in a medium bowl.

3. I pinch off the bread and make the biscuit shapes by hand, but if you need to turn it out and roll it to cut it, feel free. Remember to add more flour to keep the dough from sticking, and make the dough about 1/2 inch thick.

4. Place on a greased baking sheet (I actually line mine with Parchment paper instead)

5. Bake approximately 10 minutes until golden brown.
