Cauldron Cheese Dip & Mummy Dog

Updated: Sep 20, 2019

Holiday fun that's guaranteed to warm bellies and put a smile on their face.

My mother was deathly allergic to milk when I was a kid so I grew up thinking I hated cheese due to the fact that all we had was icky plastic cheese. Until the day my friend, Kim Henson, introduced me to REAL cheese at Swiss Colony. To say I've been a big fan ever since is an understatement. Over the years, I've experimented with a lot of different kinds and a lot of different recipes, but this one has turned out to be a big party favorite.

Granny Mae Wisdom--Educate yourself. Trust me, stupidity, in a large enough dose, is quite fatal.

As for the mummy dogs, I started that when my boys where little as a tradition before they went out trick-or-treating and we'd always finish it off with homemade hot cocoa and marshmallows.

Cauldron Cheese Dip

16 oz Velveeta cut into cubes

8 oz Onion & Chive Philly Cream Cheese

8 oz Sharp cheddar cheese shredded

1/2 cup onions

1/2 tsp minced garlic

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 cup milk

Blue tortilla chips

Place ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat until melted, stirring constantly. Serve with chips.

Mummy Dogs

1 package hot dogs

1 package crescent rolls

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cut crescent rolls into strips and wrap around hot dogs. Place on a pan and cook until the rolls are brown. Paint eyes on with mustard and serve.
