Main Course
I grew up eating black beans, but I learned this recipe while working in a restaurant. The shortcut came later, while having to battle a busy schedule :).
Granny Mae Wisdom--just a dab of this. Just a dab of that. And pray it works out!
You can serve them over rice or quinoa. Or even tabouli. I've used all of them and they're all good. Or even eat them as a side dish. You really can't go wrong. Don't be afraid to experiment.
Black Beans
2 Large Cans of Black Beans (drained)
1 Small Onion (diced)
1 tsp Lemon Juice
1 tsp Garlic
1 dash Tabasco
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
1. Saute onion in a tablespoon of butter.
2. Mix all ingredients together in a pot.
3. Bring to a boil on medium heat.
4. Reduce to a simmer for five minutes.
5. Serve!
